Time calculator

Time Duration Calculator

Find the elapsed time between two decimal-hour clock times.

Use 0–24 decimal hours. An end earlier than the start is treated as the next day.

Duration

How it works

Times use decimal hours from 0 through 24. When the end is earlier than the start, the calculator treats it as the following day.

Duration = (end − start + 24) mod 24

Worked example

From 22.5 (10:30 PM) to 1.25 (1:15 AM), the duration is 2 hours 45 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What happens with invalid or incomplete inputs?

The result remains blank until the required inputs form a finite, meaningful calculation. Zero denominators and physically impossible negative quantities are not calculated.

Can I use decimal values?

Yes. The tool accepts decimals and keeps full precision for the calculation while rounding the displayed result for readability.
