Bonus Calculator
Translate a bonus rate or fixed award into dollars and estimated total compensation.
Bonus amount
$8,000
How the bonus calculator works
Choose percentage when the award is stated as a share of annual base pay, or fixed amount when the employer names a dollar value. The calculated bonus is added to base annual pay.
This is especially useful for comparing a target bonus with a guaranteed salary, but a target is not necessarily what will be paid.
Worked example
For an $80,000 salary and a 10% bonus, the award is $80,000 × 0.10 = $8,000. Total gross compensation becomes $88,000. A fixed $8,000 selection gives the same arithmetic result.
Assumptions and practical limits
Performance multipliers, prorating, company funding factors, vesting, and tax withholding are outside the model.
Use eligible base pay if a plan excludes overtime, allowances, or part of the year from its bonus calculation.
Frequently asked questions

Can I enter a fixed bonus?
Yes. Select Fixed amount and enter the award in dollars.
Does total compensation include benefits?
No. It adds only base pay and the entered bonus.
